About

I'm a research scientist at OpenAI where I work on teaching large language models how to solve hard problems. During my career, I've done research in NLP (large language models, machine translation, and information extraction), graph ml (representation learning), and recommender systems. Before joining OpenAI, I was a Staff researcher at Twitter and before that a Senior Research Scientist at Meta AI (formerly Facebook AI).

I graduated with a PhD from the Data Mining Group (DMG) at UIUC, where I had the privilege to be advised by Jiawei Han. I was also fortunate enough to have had my PhD studies funded by both an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and an NDSEG Graduate Research Fellowship.

My interests are broadly in large-scale machine learning, natural language processing, graph machine learning, and recommender systems.
